How many of us have left the dealership environment, only to want it back because the outside world just doesn't make sense? Its like life at Shawshank. You become institutionalized and used to the constant fighting. When you get out, a part of you misses it. Am I alone?

After 20 or so years in this business, I've decided that its time to do something else. It used to be a fun challenge, now its just ridiculous, and its only getting worse. Working for third generation owners that will trip over $100 to try and catch a dime.

Is everyone using the Gm oil program for the bulk oil? Has anyone used Dexos approved bulk and saved a bunch of money? I'm asking because I have a vendor making a very nice offer to bring in his Dexos approved oil at $9.49/gal. Opinions?

Don't forget to mention the service advisors that constantly need parts discounted because they can't make their finished R.O. match their estimate. Or in my case a body shop manager that insists that I should be selling him parts at cost because we are all the same company and I'm ripping the owner ...
