Arkona! You get what you pay for?

Arkona! You get what you pay for? I have heard this in all the forum's that have post up about Arkona! But; As a Business and in the Automobile Business I don't think we could get away with that attitude about our Services. I guess I would just like it to work for my Team and I; even If its cost effective!!

Bob,

You've been blasting the forums over Dealer Track/Arkona for a week now. I answered your post, and stated that if you would post a specific problem, maybe the other people that read this Forum, including several field reps and installers, could HELP you find a solution. Instead, all we get is more crap.

I think the REAL problem must be you are used to R+R or ADP doing everything for you with no real effort. Sure, ARKONA isn't perfect, but for what we pay for it over what we would be paying (and stuck in a MULTI year contract for either of the big duo) I'll live with what we've got. Our company's decision to go with ARKONA 5 yrs ago is one of the reasons we were able to survive the bottom dropping out of the car business in the last few months. You also have to remember that ARKONA doesn't have 25~30 yrs in this field. They have worked with me numerous times to help me either find a solution or to show me the proper way that their software works.

So, that said, either let us attempt to help you by posting specific problems/questions; or PLEASE stop posting gibberish that just hogs up the forum.

Richard

Arkona, ADP, R&R, Autosoft, Automate and your calculator are all just tools. Learn to use it and it will serve you well. If you keep insisting that the buttons are in the wrong order you will never get the results you need.

Is an "automotive application specialist" a consultant?

With the advent of the internet do you still have to have a briefcase and be 50 miles from home to be a consultant?

Just a note of unneeded defense of bsilcox, I have found good value in his posts on more than one occasion, and feel he has more than earned a pass on this.

Bob hopefully you saved my phone number. Give me a call, I might be able to help you.

Justbob,

No, just a valid unemployment claim and a five year old laptop.

I'd be willing to give a pass too, IF there was anything solid that could be resolved from the post(S). Why post in EVERY Single forum about how bad something is, but not give any specifics so someone can help overcome the problem. It's impossible to help someone if they won't tell you what they can't seem to figure out.

We had a guy at one of the other dealerships in our group that actually quit over the decision to go with ARKONA. He had never been on any system but R+R in his career, and had drank their Cool-Aid deeply. He's now at an aftermarket parts house, after being at several other dealerships in the past 5 yrs
