Diagnostic time, OLH?

Diagnostic time, OLH?

Postby Backlash » Tue Dec 08, 2009 12:17 pm

GM is pushing harder for seperate diagnostic time and OLH time documentation. What are Arkona users doing to log this time?
Also, when add-on labor operations are added after original write up, they must be signed for by management with date and time(same with OLH and diag time).
The only way I see to deal with this is to print a copy of the RO at that time and put it in the file for documentation.
Can there be a choice for the tech to log regular time or diag time??
Can we get an electronic signature option(with date and time) for management somehow to document this stuff on the original RO?

Thanks

Backlash,

Being a "parts guy" for 15 years I havent spent much time in Service so forgive me for my question, but what does OLH stand for?
To answer you second question you can call support and summit an enhancement request, you will be given a case number, I would suggest if you would like to do so, supply as much detailed information as possible, along with any bulletins you may have to support the need for the enhancement.

Other Labor Hours.
Time in addition to what the labor time guide pays for a given repair. ie: extra labor to remove a broken bolt, remove carpet and dry after a water leak repair, or time to locate an electricial problem. GM wants seperate on-off punch times for anything extra.

I'll call in for support.

Thanks

Backlash,

I would create secondary labor ops codes to be used for OLH, and up sells only.
Example:
Current Labor Op: (ENGINE)
C/S: they think they need a tune up due to engine chugging.
Cause: Faulty plugs, wires.
Correction: Performed Tune up
Flag time: 1.4 per labor time guides

Up sell labor opt:
Labor Op (ENGINE1)
C/S: they think they need a tune up due to engine chugging.
Correction: Continued work on tune up
Flag time: .6

This would also make it very easy to track in the sales by labor opt report.

Ray,
I do that for customer pay repairs.

GM wants 1 labor operation per line. I have to be able to differenciate(sp) between diagnostic/olh time and regular labor time on the same line.

Thanks again!

Backlash,

Either way we go from here it will create a lot of extra work, weather the dealers try to manipulate it with the current functions, and manual tracking, or we add features to make it easier, the service departments would be forced to use our ERO with the techs, or service writers logging actual, upsell, and/or olh labor times. I can see the techs kicking and screaming already.

Have A Great Day,
