New here to Dealer Track. We have NAPA filters ( among other non-GM parts ) in stock and the previous parts manager grouped them in with the GM parts in the MFG type. How do I change those to OT MFG type ? ALSO, does anyone know why this system keeps non-factory part numbers in its memory ?

OT mfg. type is controlled by the stocking group. You will have to move those parts to a stocking group that is associated with OT mfg. type. There should definitely be one of these setup already but if there is not then you will have to create a new stocking group under the OT mfg. type. This is all very easy to do.

The issue with keeping non-factory part numbers in memory is annoying and does cause some problems but you learn to live with it.

Use the delete function, only if the part has history it will prompt to merge it. You can change the Manufacturer and part number and the cost and history will transfer to the new #, or the same # if you just want to change the manufacturer.

also, if you dont like the history in OT parts just delete and merge it to a generic part number, like a fast moving oil filter that does not require the system to manage it.
