Anyone have ADP web Suite 1000 DSP ?

Postby chevyguy » Sat Feb 12, 2005 12:34 pm

Just yesterday I had a demo from ADP on their w.e.b. Suite 1000. This is a web based server (Sitting down in Florida). They do all the updates from their end, I never need to buy another new server ?

The demo went pretty good, seems to have all the bells and whistles. I have high speed TV cable ?

He quoted me 4 log on's 3 printers, I supply the PC's.

$14,900.00 up front and $675.00 a month for 5 year contract. He said no more up front upon renewal ? I think I may be able to work him on those prices !

I'm a small Chevy store in PA, I have a company called AUTO COMP now @ $375.00 a month. Paid $5000 to 6000 up front with them 10 years ago, plus had to buy all new harware. (Always buying new hardware) 2 people run the company and I'm afraid they may call me one day and say we're done/out of business !

Did they not also provide you with a list of references you could check?

There are better options in that price range. ADP even has a Web 2000 package for smaller dealers which might get you where you want to be. I'm not sold on WEB 1000. You need more detailed demos and visits with users of similar size, franchise, etc.

I use web 2000 in our store. It is great for Parts & Service, however the other departments simple hate it. The best features are the shortcut displays to the side, a quick glance gives all of the days info.

Be careful! Have a client running ADP 2000 - 3 months now and still major problems - ADP blames his internet connection for major down time - dealer has no other problems w/internet - just ADP application - looks like a classic P-----g contest to me - meanwhile the store is not running efficiently. Great concept maybe on paper but I'm not sure ADP can pull it off in the short run.

How much pain are you willing to live with and for how long.

DO YOUR HOMEWORK!

John, ADP has literally tens of thousands of users running daily on their ASP delivered dealer management systems (Web2005, Web2000, Web1000 and DMS@NET). No provider in the industry provides even a fraction of the number of ASP seats that are deployed, and many of these users have been accessing their systems via ASP for several years and clients include small rural stores to the largest automotive retailers in the country.

If you would like to make me aware of the client that is having difficulty, I am happy to escalate within ADP - feel free to email me directly for assistance if required.

It is important to know that not all clients purchase their network from the systems provider and in doing so bear the risk of having to manage multiple vendors. In the end, ADP has Network Engineers that can and will engage to assist as we certainly understand the critical nature of DMS availability.

You know, DealersEdge.com does have attractive advertising rates, contact them about doing ads, instead of trying to cheat the system. Heck EDS (before ADP bought 'em) stepped up and sponsor an entire forum.....Let's see if Procede really wants to play....
