HI: The reason for you change will determine the sales comp plan you put in place. IN late 2000 I was struggling with gross on both new and used. I changed my sales system as well as my pay plan. I went to a base salary($1500) and then a point system. THis pays the sales person points for selling a vehicle. THey know in advance how many they need to sell to make $2,000, $3,000 etc. Everyone told me this would lower my grosses and it did not. My grosses went up, my salespeople are happier and this is what worked for me. I have many friends that are still on commission and they have constant headaches. How do pay a commissionable gross on a new unit anymore? JUst a thought.
