Freight charges on repair orders

Does anyone know how to charge out freight on a repair order. Not charging it out as a part number using the ADP system

freight charges normally apply to individual part numbers, with a seperate freight charge for each. when you sell a part to a repair order, you can up arrow to the part number and f2 to display all the detail. at lower right is a "service charge" field. you could put freight charges here. however, this will still be needed to input manually with the appropriate op code if it is for warranty reimbursement of freight charges. many dealers have created a dummy part number in a unique source that automatically debits the freight account when used. just two ideas, one utilizing the part number for part sold, and one for utilizing a generic, dummy part number.

if you choose to utilize the "service charge" field, you will need to check the accounting setups to see what account that "service charge" is debiting / crediting.
