I'M LOOKING FOR RECOMMENDATIONS ON EXTERIOR VIDEO SURVEILLANCE SYSTEMS FOR THE DEALERSHIP. ANY SUGGESTIONS OR VENDOR NAMES WOULD BE APPRECIATED...ALSO APPROXIMATE COSTS.
THANKS

It depends on where you are located.

Try your own alarm company first. If they don't do the cameras themselves, they will most likely have a contractor they can recommend.

We use Axis and Video IQ cameras.... monitored by our security guard. It's recorded 24 hours a day 7 days a week. We've tried the remote managed/monitored companies before and they simply do not do what they say they will do. Contract or not! The expense is as great as you want to make it. The cameras we use run anywhere from $500 to as much as $1,500 per camera depending on whether you want fixed or PTZ (pan, tilt, zoom). We use Milestone software in conjunction with the Video IQ software to record to a workstation/server. The security guard still makes "rounds" at night, but mostly sits behind a dual monitor set-up seeing the entire lot all at once. It's saved us thousands on the service drive with people saying their car/truck was damaged here when actually it was brought in that way. Feel free to email me if you have questions. And of course this can also be monitored via your smart phone as well since it's IP based.
