Anyone had any success in setting up a showroom in a shopping mall?

It seems like a good place to be to get lots of walk-through traffic.

Does it work?

Any ideas for making it work?

We could only do so in California if we receive a DMV license for "off site" sales. These are granted on a very limited basis to cover "tent" sales at the ball park once a year but I'm not sure one would be given for long-term mall location.

I suppose the dealer could apply for a satellite location at the mall but the manufacturer would need to ok.
