New Forum Format

Postby mbowers » Tue Feb 02, 1999 4:18 pm

Welcome to the new and improved Dealer's Edge forum for Dealers and General Managers. Discussion threads from the old forum are not compatible with this new format. However, the old threads can still be accessed by clicking on "DETAILS ABOUT OUR FORUM UPGRADE" found on the first page of the forum. You will not be able to respond to an old thread in the old format. You can, however, continue the discussion by opening a new topic on the new forum.

You should have received n e-mail message explaining these changes. If not, contact our webmaster.

Here's the e-mail that was sent users who were registered for the previous forums:

Dear Registered BB User:

You are receiving this message because you are a registered
user of the bulletin board forums at
http://www.dealersedge.com

The purpose of this message is to give you some information
about changes to the forums which will make them much more
usable. Among some of the new features are:

- a new message indicator, so that you can go right to
the messages that were posted since your last visit
- an option to receive an e-mail notification whenever
somebody replies to a thread that you start
- a search engine
- the ability to go back and fix any mistakes you make
in your posts
- a feature that will e-mail you your login name and
password if you forget them
- the ability to change your personal profile without
sending an e-mail to the forums administrator

All users, including those who had registered before, will
have to register again to be able to post messages.
However, the registration form is much shorter than the
previous one, and you will have full privileges immediately
after registering.

All of the posts from the previous forum format are available
in an archive. The archive is read-only. If you would like
to reply to a message in the archive, you will need to post
a message within the new forum format.

To get to the archive, enter one of the forum rooms and
click on the link that says 'Details about our Forum Upgrade
are Here' On the next page you will find links to the
archives of each forum room.

We think that this new format will result in even more
lively discussions about the issues that affect automobile
dealerships. If you haven't used the Dealersedge.com forums
in a while, we encourage you to visit again to find out what
your colleagues are talking about.

As always, we value your feedback. Please send any comments
or questions to forums@dealersedge.com

You can jump immediately to the new forums at this URL:
