I am a consultant for a document managment company looking to address the ever growing problem of the "paper chase" throughout the dealership. My question to the group is simple...How much of a business problem is the handling of critical documents and if a totally affordable document management solution for the automotive industry were made available, what would the demand/interest be?
Make it a profitable day!!!

Perhaps it would be a good start to define what a document management company does. What are the goals and methodologies used to increase the efficiency and productivity of the employees/dealership that uses your service. Can you measure, objectively and quantitatively the increase in profit to be realized by your product? That's where you start.

Proquest (formerly Bell & Howell Publishing) tried it, but failed. They outfitted less than 20 dealers and then terminated the project for several reasons.

The dealers biggest objection being that in the end (even though some of it was automated) they still had to hire someone to scan documents; and they still saved a paper copy of most if not all transactions.

Each manufacturer, and each dms posed a different set of requirements as well.

Howdy,
I know that ADP ARG (Formerly EDS) integrates with RVI Document Management software. We use it quite a bit. You might wanna take a look and see what you think.
