Jim

If your contention is correct, we should be seeing more service advisors moving into vehicle sales to take better advantage of their superior selling skills and to earn more money.

But we don't.

In my experience it's more common for failed salespeople to find second careers as service advisors.

Also, we see detail techs and porters becoming service advisors but rarely do we see them move into the showroom. If showroom sales requires a lower level of skill, the showroom should be the next step for people on their way up.

Showroom salespeople get far fewer sales opportunities during the day and have to sell a "nice to have" product versus a "need to have" service.

Boy, Jim, it sure sounds like you are trying to set the table for offering your services. That doesn't fly in these forums.

Since most of the posting in this forum is done by parts and service managers it would appear that it is them, not the dealers and GM's who really value their customers and their business.
Also - "it's narrow vision that blocks the doorway of opportunity....." - that's beautifully written, what does it mean???

Hey Scot, maybe we should start a thread...
"When does a store realize it's sales department needs work?"

Hey Jim, have you looked at the trend in fixed absorbtion lately?
