I thought it would be a good to place a simple "best idea" on the forum. Please place your "best idea" to save money, increase gross & improve efficiency. The goal of the idea should be simple, cost effective and easy to impliment.

IDEA:
We made up small stickers with our web address posted on them and stuck them to the back of the monitor (facing out so the customer could see it). That way, our website is always in front of the customer. Service, Parts, waiting rooms, sales showroom and even on the bottom of the TV. (where the channels are). This simple tool cost less than $200! The stickers are 1 inch long by 8 inches long. They fit nicely over the nameplate on the back of the monitors.

What simple, best idea can you add?

Good idea. The more name recognition the better. Do your license plate frames have your website on them? How about posting sales ads in service, parts, and yes, even in the restrooms.
Do you have someone participate in the local Chamber of Commerce? That can be a good tool. There's also a great organization, BNI, Business Netowrk International. Similar to the Chamber, but only one representative per industry is accepted. Check it out.
I look forward to others posting their ideas!

Improve and/or increase your Service Labor Gross Profit use a variable techncian pay rate process. If you are in the maintenance business you should not pay a senior tech to do junior tech work. We pay 20% cost against the selling price of labor of all maintenance items. This should be 60-80% of you business depends on work mix. This has driven our labor gross profits percentage on customer paid work to 77.87% overall including oil changes. This increased our bottom line. At that time we had 54 techs. This process included the Quick Service Teams Process with 16-18 techs. The Quick Service Team helps increase our overall gross profits margins on all labor types.

This subject should be sent to all the forums, not just this one.
