Any preferences out there on key machines? Looking for a new system, but haven't shopped in a while. Talk about sticker shock!

Under the parts managers' forums there are several discussion threads on this very topic. Parts managers are usually up on what works, what doesn't by talking to other parts managers for your car line(s). Just remember, price isn't everything. Any perceived savings by purchasing/leasing a cheaper machine may be more than eaten up by the cost of miscuts. Really adds up fast with today's security-chip-imbedded key blanks.

My apologies - we're looking for a key system for the front end to secure keys and log them in and out with good key control. Didn't make this very clear, did I?

After looking for possible upgrades at NADA it seems the system we have is one of the better. Copy and paste the link for info...

We've been using a KeyTrak for about 10 years now. I don't know how anyone else with more than a dozen keys lives without it. We usually have between 500 and 700 units in New Car Inventory and about 100 used cars at a time.
