1997 Lumina Police Car Recaro Seat

Anyone out there service Police cars? I have a problem with a 97 Lumina with the Police PKG. I cannot get a lower seat frame for this car. The part # 12521226 is not availible from GM and all the old stock was scrapped due to the part being shipped from Recaro incomplete. The part is missing the spring section, and guess what? That is the problem with the part, the spring section gets ripped out of the lower frame. I have not had any luck with GM parts, or Recaro. Recaro even sent me a seat frame (COD, ground, took 3 weeks to arrive) but it too showed up without the spring section. last contact I had with Recaro, I was told to contact their aftermarket side and purchase a complete seat. Anyone else had this problem, and found a better solution? We have replaced several of these frames in the past, and the problem only cropped up around June. Thanks for ANY help or suggestions.

Richard, I won't guarantee anything but you might try contacting Shaheen Chevrolet in Lansing, Michigan. They do a major volume in police car restorations and may be able to help you. Good Luck!

***UPDATE*** After I went round and round
for Paragon, who is one of there Retail outlets. I email these people, and got an immeadiate answer. There is a kit to repair these seats, it replaces the old alumnium springs with a nylon/rubber assembly. it is a bit hard to install, but it DID fix the problem, and got a problem child OUT of my life.

Anyone else having problems with a Recaro seat, you might write this information down for later use.
