has anyone taken the adp parts inventory and invoicing class?


if so, did you benefit from the 3 day class?

i will have to use 3 days of vacation so i want to make sure it is worth it. i am pursuing a parts manager promotion in our dealer group. i have been a asst. manager for 13 months. short handed so i don't have time to train all day......too bad for me...

Are you sure your dealer is supportive of your getting the position. The rewards of any training is improved efficiency and performance; isn't your dealer interested in either of these?
If they are unwilling to train you I would think twice about investing your time and money (meals-travel-vacation time) Why not approach them about reimbursing for a satisfactory grade or performance in the class? At least try to get them to split the cost 50-50 !

Most likely your instructor will have never worked as a Parts Manager or even in a Parts Department. They will teach you what KEYS to 'push', but not really how to process your paper work, etc.

Your dealer should be willing to invest in you as an employee or you'll be regreting the loss of three vacation days within weeks.
