Federal safety officials said this afternoon that General Motors hasn't provided enough information about parts of the ignition switch recall and is being fined $7,000 a day, starting from April 1.

In addition, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administrative says that it has the authority to turn over what it sees as GM's deficiency to the Department of Justice as soon as tomorrow.

NHTSA previously ordered GM to reply to 107 questions to help determine if the automaker reported a safety defect promptly. The answer were due April 1 and although GM swamped NHTSA with documents, they aren't necessarily the right ones.

End result will probably be 0% discount and 0% return reserve so that WE pay for it. :(
