Mazda terms of trade / Incentive programs

Postby WITYLER » Wed Apr 16, 2014 1:11 pm

Hello All,

I've lurked on the forums for long enough and finally decided to join the site. I have taken on some new responsibilities in my dealer group so I have a couple of questions.

My dealer franchise background is mainly Volkswagen. I have dipped in to other franchises periodically but nothing to the extent that I will be getting into with Mazda in the near future.

I will be assisting one of the dealers in my dealer group in growing their Mazda wholesale business and before I do that I'd like to educate myself on Mazda terms of trade.

So a couple of questions:

How does Mazda's return program worK?

Does Mazda participate in managing their dealers inventory?

What are the (if any) dealer order incentive programs / How are they paid out? Etc.

If there is a link to this information that anyone could point me towards I'd greatly appreciate it.

Thanks in advance for any help / insight that anyone can offer.

Welcome to the forum,
1. Mazda's return program is part of a bigger program called "Mazda Parts Advantage". They have a list of 500 parts that they consider "A" parts. if you stock 450-500 you ear 6% return accrual. This is where you would want to be as a wholesale dealer. You can also return any normal special order part within 45 days, however you have a steep handling fee any where from 7.5 - 17.5%.

2. Mazda doesn't do a remote inventory control, like GMs RIM. The MPA program is as close to inventory management as they get. The one thing you want to keep control of is your non "A" class parts idle inventory. It has to stay below 2% in order to collect your performance credit.

3. Mazda has a parts loyalty program. Which gives you a stepped discount on certain part numbers if you order a minimum quantity.

I can send you attachments of what I have if you like. just private message me your email.
