Camaro Recall

The transmitter will not change, you will have a ring that you attach to it for the key. New messenger bulletin posted last night with instructions but they did not list a part number for the key in it, they are still trying to figure that out.

I don't see any new (or recent) messages on this 14294 as of right now, 8:20 am. None on my messenger list since June 19. Could you please post the message number? I've always suspected GM of distributing these "favorably". We are a Buick-GMC store but still have a few Camaros on the Pre-owned lot on "stop-sale" and management is getting anxious. Thanks.

I think he is referring to message G_0000194680 . At the bottom it has a link to the stop sale notice which now references dealers cutting the keys instead of ordering them by key code and vin. No part ordering info yet though.

You need to scroll down to the bottom of message G_0000194680 and clink on the link to the recall.

"You will be responsible for getting the keys cut locally. This requires a laser key cutter. If you don’t have one, seek out another dealer that does.'

So how many of you with the machine are going to do this for free to your fellow dealer

The only place in town here is one locksmith and it will cost us $20.00 each with no guarentee it will work, I may have missed it on the bullitin are we getting reinbursed for this or is this a cost of doing business with GM?

That message # G_0000194680 is not on my Global Messenger, even by advanced search. I get messages for nearly ALL categiries; Parts Inventory Manager, Parts Manager, General Manager, Body Shop Technician, Wholesale Sales Person and Service Advisor. It must be filtering by carline somehow to only go to Chevy dealers.

I knew I wasn't paranoid.

This message didn't show up on my feed either, I had to search for it.

We are a small dealership and have the only side mill key cutter in the county. I am sure we will get requests to cut keys for other dealerships, but it will cost the standard $20 each. Those machines are not cheap, and that is a bargain price.

I can't even see the "Stop-Sale" bulletin G_0000193923 in Global Messenger.

We have used ones on the lot and Sales is asking questions...
