Warranty Parts Returns

Warranty Parts Returns

Postby Bailo1 » Tue Oct 14, 2014 7:33 pm

I know this has been mentioned on here somewhat recently but I couldn't find it...

We have two returns in the yellow section of our queue that we are positive we sent back a couple weeks ago. The problem is I haven't kept tracking information because in the past I could pull up history on all warranty returns, take a screen shot, and email it to my DMA--problem solved. Now, there is no history link to click in the UPS tool for shipping back WPC requests. Anyone know of a way to retrieve history so I have proof we shipped these two worthless recall parts back to the WPC?

I can not answer your question, but, We do make photo copies of ALL shipments and attach them to the RO just for reasons like this. I have one now in the red section, at which point I have the warranty clerk pull the RO and I do tracking info from UPS and print a copy showing it was received, who it was signed by and attach that to the RO. If GM has any questions I will be happy to fax the info. Their problem, not mine!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, we used to do the same thing, but I'll admit I got lazy and grew dependent on the history link. Silly me for thinking GM wouldn't do away with that link without saying something first. Lesson learned I suppose.

Sounds like a good issue for the DFOAB.

We have one in the yellow and tracking shows it was signed for by WPC. I guess they are a little overwhelmed right now.

I have 3 in the yellow as well for parts that I sent back last week. They are definitely overwhelmed right now with recall returns. When the ignition switches started going back a few months ago I had a ton of them in the red and I freaked out but it was just because they have like 2 million of them to go through...They should catch up in a few days and everything will be good.

I called the WPC on another issue, but the recording says that they are about a week and a half behind on scanning shipments that they have signed for from UPS. Supposedly, they will not close out or debit the transactions during this time of overwhelmingness. Funny how our workload doesn't qualify for an extension, but it does for them... sure sounds like the government to me !!

~ gt has two in the red, both are cable and brkts from the recall fury that we are now experiencing...

EDIT:
I make two extra shipping labels. One for my file and one goes to our Warranty Admin, then she adds the number to the transaction on the website.
