RIM QUESTION

RIM QUESTION

Postby RLWOLF » Fri Jan 30, 2015 4:52 pm

Does anyone know the purpose of the "qty.booked" field on the RIM screen?

It is under "STOCKING POLICY BASIC DATA DETAIL, INVENTORY INFORMATION"

I have no doubt, it's for the General's selfish use, but I'm curious ..........

Thanks

The Booked Quantity feature can only be turned on or off by your DMS, i.e. ADP, R&R, etc.

When the booked quantity feature is on, any time a sale or request is posted to your system for a RIM managed part, whether it is on a repair order, counter slip or a special order, the RIM system treats these parts as booked for sale.

When they go on open repair orders or invoices, if the SPQ stocking level is not met during the next Daily Sales file transmission to GM, an order will post during the next RIM order process.

If a special order request is made for a RIM State Code 2 parts, the system will see it as booked for sale and treat the in stock part as essentially booked for sale and reorder for stock on the next RIM order. We do not order the in stock parts for these Special Orders. We tag the in stock parts with a special order priority of OH.

I did not like having it turned on for various reasons and requested to have it turned off by our DMS, ADP.

Sorry folks for the long winded original reply.
