Anyone NOT on pricelink ?

Postby LOWAIRD1964 » Fri Dec 04, 2015 6:01 pm

Hi all, I am not on the program yet. Just curious how many dealers are on it and how many arent. My gm here said no to it in the summer when oec started to first push it. Now it almost seems that we have to be on it? Is this true, I am a small dealer with not alot of body shop wholesale. I would like it to be more but so hard we have 2 giant dealers close by under cutting everyone. Just looking for some oppinions, Thanx!

We aren't going to do the Pricelink Plus. we have our own body shop so I'm guessing we will have to use it some for the pricing in D2D. We are running AutoSoft and so far it wont integrate with PriceLink, So we are going to set the system up so when we do the price tap update it sets the list and trade prices up on the parts that are missing it, we are gonna set it up to about where the mark up is now.

Lowaird... If you subscribe to one of the OE-Connection for D2D and the locator, you will have access through those programs. From what I understand, you DO NOT have to have Collision Link to access the data. The CollisionLink component integrates the body shop estimating software with the OE-Connection data and somehow makes it all SEAMLESS, or so they are touting in "the webinar teleconference chat room deal". Additionally, depending on your DMS, it is supposed to be populating invoices automatically, or something like that. Also, did you notice there were no live questions... So, if you use the locator, there is a hot link in the "MY APPLICATIONS" menu which is on the left side of my screen.

I am no longer on Collision Link, but I am continuing to subscribe to the D2D software package. I am NOT subscribing to any upgrades or any programs related to MyPriceLink at this time.

Also, I found it interesting that during "the webinar teleconference chat room deal", the representatives from OE-Connection DID NOT know their own customer service phone number for dealers to call. That is how far they are removed from us "end-users". They don't know and they don't care...

~ gt... your mileage may vary, but I doubt it.

So far I'm not interested. We only have a few decent body shops that we cater to, and one is our "house" shop that is certified in all our brands (we closed our body shop about 15 years ago) so they're not going anywhere. This is just another PITA program that will just make it harder to do our jobs.

My real concern is the day-to-day non-collision business that this will affect, as there are way too many numbers on this program that we sell to wholesale mechanical repairs shops, as well as our own service drive customers. Just think about all the possibilities of how this will affect you. OMG what a farce this is!
ps. Rey-Rey has NO idea of any integration possibilities, and that won't matter anyway cause I'm not buying anything else from OEConnect except for the minimum locator.

The future of this business is not too bright.

were not interested either, all our accounts are set up with the pricing we want so we don't quote prices without using the customers account.....of course we are the only dealer up here for an hour in any direction so we have little or no worry at all from other GM dealers.
