GM ACCESSORIES

GM raised their prices on accessories by about 7% today. Note that was Dealer COST ONLY, not MSRP. For those of you paid on gross or net, you're welcome.

That's ok, most of the stuff we put on is on a we-owe, and we get cost plus 30% (cost plus 22% on steps) so i'll just pass that on.

We don't get to sell accessories anymore due to the new car department adding every LPO to every new vehicle!
So the Parts Department makes 0 dollars from accessories...just the headaches of checking them in, storing them, giving them out and tracking down any backorders or missing LPO's.
The Great GM Feeling! :D

Just more proof that since GM went bankrupt and changed the rules, (i.e.franchise agreements), they view their dealer
body as strictly a profit center for themselves only. They could care less if the dealers are making any money.

I just think it's funny how they were quick to mention the price reduction in oil (thanks for the extra $.02/quart!) but I never saw any mention of this.

We were able to talk our dealer into letting us bill a handling charge for Lpo's on the internal repair order. So for instance we charge 50.00 for steps and 5.00 for each set of floor mats. So if a vehicle has two sets of mats a a set of running boards we bill 60.00 on the repair order.

Then they send out a huge list of parts that had the wrong prices in the price tape that needed to be fixed.

Customers have all kinds of ways to compare and check prices on accessories, many are the same thing except not in a GM package. Go ahead and price yourself out of the market GM,but there will be no need to call me at the end of month for an order to reach your quota. 7% really? When any discounts we may get are around 1%. Good Luck to us all.
