AIRBAG

AIRBAG

Postby CHUCKINPARTS » Wed Mar 16, 2016 2:04 pm

I don't know why everything revolves around recalls but here is another one. We received an airbag for recall 28030 with a control number of RECAL 28030 030716C. When I received the email with the recall bulletin there was a VIN list attached with one vehicle with our BAC for a GMC pickup on our lot. I ASSUMED it was for that vehicle but when we opened the box it had a bowtie on the airbag. Packaging error????? We tried to order the correct airbag but it was cancelled because it is pre ship only. I contacted SPAC to find out how to correct the wrong airbag sent. The agent called today and said that the person in charge of the recall (wouldn't we all like to get that name and number) said it was for a sold Malibu. I asked her how in the hell would I know that because there was nothing on the answerback or label on the part indicating who it was for. She told me that there is directions on the bulletin to find this info out. YA----- well I also looked in field information on Globalconnect and found nothing......... Does anyone know where to look to find out this info??????

We are in exact same boat. Recieved 2 air bags for Malibus. Our list attached to bulletin shows 1 Malibu that we sold last month. Looked in Field Action Info, Nothing!!! No one can tell us what vehicle the other bag goes to.

Has anybody else had the thrill of this recall 28030A. Instructions tell you not to deploy take off unit and ship it back. No return address! No OP-900PRP form! And the package is way sub standard for Haz-mat shipping. Simple cardboard box with bubble wrap inside. Called Key Safety Systems and they said it will be OK. Yeah! They are not the one who will have to pay the DOT fine. Also heard rumors of a rewrite of Recall 28030A. Maybe they will change their mind and let us deploy them. :x :x
