Firestone tire road force warranty

Hi everyone

There were a set of 35x12.50R20LT Firestone Destination M/T's thrown on our Sales Manager's truck last month. Part # 19326860

1 of the 4 tires failed a road force test a month later, we did everything to fix it with no luck. Ended up ordering a 5th to replace the culprit.

After speaking to a rep at ATD, he said it has to be done through GM and not ATD or Firestone. Didn't provide much help and basically said it needed to be done through gmtirebilling

If these aren't factory tires, how do you think I should go about sending the one back? Is road force warranty handled differently? I have never had this problem before.

According to what I am seeing on the gmtirebilling site about aftermarket tire warranty, road force is not a warrantable condition. If you can check if the specific tire model you used is a part of the manufacturers trial program return policy, you might be able to get some action. Beyond that, I am not sure.

johnmc98 is correct, definitely check the tire billing website. It has all the instructions and forms to file a claim:
Note on Vibration: Relative to Radial Force Variation (RFV) please see latest version of GM bulletin 00-03-10-006 for all details. In summary: Tires must be driven minimum of 15 miles. Address each imbalance, out of round, and tire force variation. First test the wheel balance. If everything is in spec, road test the tires. Once tire is road tested, verify there is still a vibration or shake via the wheel balancer. RFV must be documented. If a tire vibration exists once these steps are performed, you can file the claim using the Removal Reason “Vibration”. Vibration claims require approval. Please be prepared to provide details and confirm the tire was properly inspected, including road tested. Note: Road Force is NOT a warrantable condition.

Their statement that road force is not warrantable is BS. I had a tech buy 2 Kelly's for his personal vehicle about a month ago. Came to me about a week ago complaining of a nasty vibration. Showed him the paragraph referenced above and told him he had to go through the process-- "Tires must be driven minimum of 15 miles. Address each imbalance, out of round, and tire force variation. First test the wheel balance." He did. I submitted an aftermarket tire warranty claim through gmtirebilling dot com and used the counter ticket number in the RO field. Received payment the day after fedex picked them up. If it's legit and you document it and word it properly when submitting the claim--they'll pay it. Btw, after going through the required rigamarole a few times, the two bad tires still had 47 and 29 lbs of road force.

I ended up having to go to bfentirenet(dot)com and follow the "new warranty adjustment" procedure.

It is pretty straight forward and you end up printing out a shipping label at the end. We will see if the tire actually goes away and we get credit
