Sorry for the delay in my response, took a long overdue vacation. For my stocking purposes the quantity does not matter a demand is a demand. If one month a set of four is sold and another month a single unit is sold it meets phase-in and is brought into inventory. It is my experience that if I fill my on-hand based on the math it is far more effective than trying to guess or making emotional decisions.
For each SKU I do stock a full set: four for most cars, two for those with different sizes front/rear. The only exception to this is when a new vehicle comes with a tire model never stocked. I will bring it in for blow-out situations.
