ADP question - The printed "Parts Special Order Form"

ADP question - The printed "Parts Special Order Form"

Postby Zep33 » Wed Sep 14, 2016 11:26 am

Something that drives me crazy that I'm hoping there's just a setting somewhere that needs to be set.

Called ADP and have an open case but they really didn't know what I was asking.

Example: We order 10 parts on a repair order the day the vehicle comes in. They all come in, get receipted and handed out. Later on the tech discovers 5 more parts that need to be ordered.
When the "Parts Special Order Form" prints, the 10 parts from the day before reprint on the form along with the additional 5 parts to be ordered. Those 10 parts of course don't get ordered again but we would much prefer to just have those 5 parts currently being ordered print on it than all 15. This is especially messy on the big Toyota frame jobs that already have 20 parts ordered for the campaign and then the tech's list of additional parts sometime cause the SOR form to be 4-5 pages long. Then the next day he needs just one more thing and we get 4-5 more pages instead of just that last part he needs.

Is there a way to flip some ADP switch that just prints the parts to be ordered?

thanks

Hope this makes some sense. It didn't to ADP

You can print a "picking ticket" and only print the added parts and use it as a SOR card.

True, but I do like the formatting of the 2 part Special Order Form. Half goes in our order folder and the other half gets stapled to the RO for the advisors. The advisors are given a highlighted copy when the parts arrive.

I like the way our system is set up. Our sister store uses the picking tickets. Would be too different for a minor annoyance.

I'd be very surprised if there isn't a setting somewhere that will allow what I'm trying to get to

thanks Tim

The Special Order Form is simply printing data output fields where you place them in SOF and the setups don't allow you the ability to hide the SOR lines/parts already filled. As mentioned before, pick tickets do give you that option.

Here are a couple of ideas.

1.) You could create a "report" in RPG with the same info that's on an SOR Form and then only print the SOR lines that haven't yet been filled.
2.) Your dealership could purchase ELF "Enhanced Laser Forms" which adds the ability to do lots of customization on any laser printed forms. You can add "decision statements" that says if Order Quantity is less than Filled Qty, print that line on the SOR.
3.) Create a new/different SOR in function SOR. Just remember to add the last eight of the VIN in the VEHID box so it will auto tie back to that vehicle and RO.
