In my parts department we made a special order parts return form with all the prudent information along with the reason it was not sold/being returned and which department is going to pay for the 35% restocking fee. So that way when the Service/Body shop managers questioned it we can show them.

With Subaru, they give you 45 days to return for full credit. 35% is pretty harsh.

In the days of RIM's inception, I'm thinking that we had a full year to return with no penalty...but that went away pretty quickly.
