I was working a body shop estimate today and manually ran the My Price Link price request myself. One part # 84240587 came up on my report with a list of $19.92. When I looked at the body estimate the price was only $12.48. So I ran the body estimate quote ID through MPL and sure enough the MPL quoted price for 84240587 is $12.48. That same body shop quote shows a markup percentage of 66.62% when in actuality the markup is only about 4.4%. We get to make a whole 53 cents !
Has anyone here seen this type of extremely limited markup on a MPL quote?
Who would I speak to about this? While I am not worried about this particular part, I would be worried if this was a door or hood --- or even a whole estimate. I don't want to make an extreme profit but I must keep the doors open.
