BD Laser Max update question

I bought a cat 5 cable that would go long enough from our key machine to a computer... Problem is none of our desktops have more than one ethernet port. How do you all update the machine? I plugged the ethernet directly from the BD Max to the Cat 5 wall but just get an error on the BD Max stating no internet connection. Anyone ran into this? Thank you.

I had to call and have them send the update via email, download it to my computer then connect computer to key machine for the update. They also have an SD card option for the update but they charge for that.
