CDK QUESTION

CDK QUESTION

Postby MSInventory » Tue Jun 04, 2019 8:41 pm

I have question regarding set-ups in CDK. I am trying to help a GM dealer by analyzing their phase in-out guides and best stocking levels and so forth. What 3 letter job in CDK do I need to look into this? I have a week or so before I get into this.
Thanks in advance. It's been some time since having to dig deep in ADP/CDK specifications.

I think it's IRO

I've been locked out of it after they set us up corporate wide so it's been a long time since I've done any set ups too

Why would you need to do that? RIM is in control of stock. Unless they are non RIM?

Ah yes. I remember those days. When a Parts Manager, instead of a f*cking algorithm, ACTUALLY MANAGED a parts inventory!
But, I'm not bitter. No, not at all.

I am only assuming they are on RIM. I did ask their CFO and he was not sure. They are wanting to get some controls set in place. There’s been a substantial increase in inventory over the last 12. If in RIM, possibly not doing returns? If not on RIM, no controls in place. Anyway, I’ve got to start somewhere. That’s why I want to see what CDK has in case RIM is not present. I’m leaning towards the no returns being done but..... we’ll see. Could be a number of factors.
You guys make me feel fortunate that I’m not in GM. I have full control of all aspects of inventory control so I get to tweak the guides as I see fit. Thanks for your responses and help.

Just so you know you do have some control with RIM.(retail inventory management). Just because they suggest it does not mean you have stock it. W/sale dealers 80% non 85%. compliance.
