PASE Loyalty "Buckets"

PASE Loyalty "Buckets"

Does anyone really understand these Purchase / Sales Loyalty "buckets"?

Still trying to understand the oil & chemical bucket thing. We are constantly penalized for selling GM chemicals as insufficient purchases. ALL of them come directly from GM by part number, ordered by RIM. But they don't count for us - they count against us because the bucket is empty.

Still don't get it.

Apparently we cannot see our purchases, so there is that...

INSUFFICIENT PURCHASE EXAMPLE

Note: GM consolidates the entire portfolio of oil part numbers that are invoiced as a total Dollar Inventory per dealership. GM tracks the dollars not the individual oil part numbers. When invoiced the dollar amount is added/deposited into your inventory Passbook. It works much like a checking account. The invoice amounts are your actual deposits into your Dollar Inventory (Passbook). Your Dollar Inventory increases by being invoiced, and decreases as transactions are reported on Part/Counter tickets and on RO’s (includes all makes and models). This applies to all Chemical groupings (Refer to page 11 for the Chemical groupings).

Bulk oil group (#1) example:
For simplicity, using the following as an example: if you purchase 10 single quarts of oil at $1 per quart we essentially have two inventories (10 single quarts of oil and $10.00 total Dollar Inventory). Remember GM tracks the dollars not the individual oil part numbers. We have $10 of inventory. If you release to Service at a $1.00 per quart you will run out of both dollars and physical inventories at the same time. However, if you inadvertently released to Service at $2.00 per quart, you will run out of dollars at the 5th quart. The insufficient purchase flag will turn on and remain on until you replenish your Dollar Inventory. The flag will turn off once you have been invoiced and your Dollar Inventory has received the deposit.

Most dealers purchase their oil in bulk.
The Bulk part number for 5W30 Option 1 is 12345615. The purchase Cost of Sale (COS) is $8.28 per gallon.
The Quart part number for 5W30 is 12345610 with a COS of $2.54 per quart.

If you purchase 12345615 (Bulk) and release to Service using 12345610 (Quart). You must override the Quart COS (12345610) with the calculated purchase Quart COS of 12345615 ($8.28 divided by 4 equals $2.07 per quart).

Again, releasing to Service using the Quart part number 12345610 you must override the actual COS $2.54 with the calculated purchase COS of $2.07.

Thanks for that information. However, already been through the oil invoicing / billing deal and we do purchase bulk oil and we do sell it per quart, actual gallon cost divided by 4. Unfortunately, that is not the problem.

Will keep looking for the problem but it seems PASE now doesn't return my calls. Don't have a DMA - haven't had one since mid-November. Kinda on an island, maybe I should change my name to Skipper. After all GM is acting like Gilligan

Group/Buckets Categories
1 Bulk and Package Oil
2 Bulk and Package ATF
3 Anti-Freeze, Coolant
4 A/C Refrigerant – Freon
5 Appearance Products and Kits
6 Washer Fluid Opticlean
7 Touch-Up Paint
8 Other Lubricants/Additives

Above is a listing of the PASE buckets. Apparently PASE support does not know what part numbers go into each bucket. Sure would be helpful to know that.

Also each of these buckets is "managed" solely on dollars - NOT part number and quantity. Additionally these buckets do NOT take into account price increases. If the price goes up on an item the dealer is screwed.
