IN HOUSE BODY SHOP

For those of you with a body shop I have a couple questions.
1. How far out do you order parts IE if its sched. in two weeks do you order everything or just the referral parts. What if it is a month out.
2. Do you store the parts in the parts dept or does the body shop have there on area in there dept.

My B/Shop manager is all freaked out and wants all part ordered for all the work he has scheduled ( into June) and thinks I have room for this.

For the most part we order as they need the parts. At the most it is a week out. Which gives us sometime to get the parts in and we stage them over at the body shop. We put ro and customer name on each part. I the ideal situation is they each have a roll around shelf that we can put most the parts on. this works well with small orders and helps keep larger orders together. The only problem is the body guys ends up putting their junk on them and when that happens there is no parts. You think they would get a clut after wondering why they have no parts.
