Is there a GM intent to backorder parts report?

We have a local dealer that somehow has dozens of backordered parts. 20 turbos, 12 6631 shocks, condensers etc. How do they know what will be going on backorder? Does GM have such a report?

Sounds to me like they created the b/o situation to draw in business for themselves
