EV Battery Tools

Postby Kaju65 » Thu Feb 24, 2022 6:50 pm

Hey everyone, I'm a GM Parts Manager and we're in between Service Managers right now. Our old Service Manager was in charge of ordering tools for the shop but since he's gone I'm being asked to buy HV battery tools. I went to GM Dealer Equipment but no luck, is there another resource?

You could look at the "SPECIAL TOOLS AND SOFTWARE UPDATES" app in global conn. I have bought quite a few tools from there.

SORRY . HAVE NO IDEA. AT THIS MOMENT THIS DEALER CHOOSES NOT TO SPEND THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS ON A LIFT AND A FORKLIFT TO DO 1 OR 2 RECALLS. HOW MANY BOLTS(THE CAR) DOES YOUR DEALER SELL? AROUND METRO DETROIT HERE THERE IS A LOT OF US THAT HAVE NOT MADE THE COMMITMENT. EVERY TIME YOU WORK ON ONE IT SEAMS THAT THE GLOVES EXPIRED AND YIU HAVE TO BUY NEW ONES, IT WOULD BE NICE IF WE ACTUALLY MADE OUR MONEY BACK FOR ALL THESE TOOLS WE HAVE TO PURCHASE. I KNOW EVENTUALLY I/WE WILL HAVE TO BUY ALL THIS CRAP, BUT WHEN WE HAVE SOLD ONLY AROUND 10 BOLTS THEN ITS NOT WORTH IT .

We haven't sold too many but in this area a Bolt owner can go to any dealership they want to do the battery for them. We already have a trained tech, most of the tools and a forklift.
