Shortages...

Interesting shortage fact: ALL of the transmissions listed on the latest GCUS-9-12584 (truckload program) are also on the latest GCUS-14-1537 Transmissions to Watch list. I'm sure I am late to the game on this observation, however, some of the new PMs may find this useful: "You may need to purchase from a dealer who buys in bulk, instead of GM!" With part healthy dates anywhere from July-December 2022, the correlation cannot be coincidence.

I just told my guys, it looks like GM is feeding the Powertrain Dealers. I have transmissions on RIM orders for quite awhile, yet the locator shows that certain dealers all of the sudden have 25 of that number. Oh well it is what it is. I do not see it getting any better for the little guys.

Agree. The little guys have to beg, borrow and steal.

Regarding the responses about the nasty e-mails........ Back when the Baltimore MD warehouse was in operation, we received part 123456 but inside the package was part 78910. Filed a claim via paper/pencil... Ordered part 123456 received part 78910 inside package.
They sent in back "Need more information" .
Repeated the same process.
They sent it back, "Need more information"
I wrote on the return papers, "Do you need us to come up there and tuck you in, read a bedtime story, warm your bottle"?
The phone rang the next day with a very pissed off Paul White warehouse manager. He got over it, maybe, we had a good laugh in the parts department, Baltimore was in the process of shutting down at the time and nobody up there gave a damm.

THIS!!! My rep wont even bother me with QPO anymore because I called him out on this. I said why would I put in an order for more when I'm waiting a ridiculous amount of time for my normal stocking parts. The time it's taking to get DS parts is absurd to say the least!

Went through the answerbacks for some claims, and there were some disapproved claims with a claim date ONE WEEK LATER THEN I SUBMITTED, causing them to be past the 30 day claim window!
How can GM think this is even remotely acceptable? W T F

Did GM shut all of the engine and transmission remanufacturing facilities down across the world. I am amazed at the shortage of transmissions and engines. We have lost a bunch of sales the last few months as I am sure everyone else has.

Michigan crossdock has had this problem for how long? When does GM finally figure there is something wrong and fix it.
A question that I can't get an answer from my DM, why does a part that I order that is referred to Memphis go to Michigan crossdock before it goes to Cincinnati?
