GM 1234yf

Has anybody ordered this stuff yet? I've been holding out. If I order part # 19260234, does anyone know for sure that will be only one 10lb canister? And for oil does part # 19260643 come in those 8 oz caulk gun type cartridges? We already have the machine but is there anything else we are gonna need?

We had one vehicle come through last year that needed some, it is a 4500 gram, or 9.9 some pound canister. The oil does come in the 8 ounce cartridges just like for the R134a oil. We wound up having none of the 1234yf left after the charge because the tech left the valve open. The shop purchased the spent gas.

That part number is for one 4.5 kg (9.9 lb) cylinder of R1234yf. I have not ordered oil as of yet, but it is my understanding that different vehicles/powertrain options will require different oils and they are NOT compatible with each other.

We've ordered a bunch, but only to resell. GM is actually cheaper that any of the other manufacturers.

I am worried about how to bill it out on a GM repair order. I don't know if we bill out 19260234 as the gram part number and adjust the cost, or if there is another way. I am just afraid that it will bounce on the loyalty report for not matching the price filter.

Has anyone found the proper way to bill it yet?

Our SM was so adamant about getting the cylinder by a certain date, in order to activate the new a/c machine, he nearly asked every single day if it came in! We have not had in the first vehicle requiring the use of this new type of freon. If there is a special oil for the system, would one of you be so kind to lend the part number, please? The latest chemical book even has the descriptions screwed up for the freons listed!
Thank you for the heads-up.

For GM warranty its supposed to be billed in grams. Check out this bulletin: #12-01-37-001A or Doc. ID # 2899615. it does list 2 different oils. I just wanted to make sure before I ordered Freon that I wasn't going to end up with a pallet of it.

The "Warranty In Review" newsletter that came out for Q1 2016 states that the R1234yf is to be billed in 10 gram increments. They list an example saying that if the vehicle took 210 grams to charge, then you were to bill out a quantity of 21 on the repair order. Oil is billed by the ounce.

In addition to the 2 oils listed in that bulletin (19260643 for Cadillac XTS and XT5, and 19299051 for CT6) there is also 88862657 which shows to be used in the Spark EV.

 I wish I was, but I can't make this stuff up. I would also wager that once we start seeing this stuff coming in, that there will be some other numbers added as well.
