IF YOU LOOK UP A VALVE BODY PART# 24278210 VIN#3GTU2NECXGG305359 2016 TK15543 WORKBENCH SAYS INVALID PART NUMBER. IF YOU GO TO ENGINEERING NOTES THIS IS WHAT YOU GET....Engineering Notes Details Part Number: 24278210 Description: PART NUMBER. 24278210. VALVE ASSEMBLT TRANSMISSION CONTROL BODY. IS BEING REPLACED BY PART NUMBER. 24290938. WHY IN THE WORLD SHOULD WE HAVE TO GO TO ENGINEERING NOTES FOR A NUMBER CHANGE???????????

Part 24278210 is still a good number. It will NOT be removed from EPC until all stock is depleted. Engineering Process

:shrug: i don't agree with it either, but sometimes that's the only way i've been able to get information as to what is going on with a part.

What ticks me off even more is when they change the part number in the catalog to a future part not yet available and don't even show the history :evil:

Go even one step further, Valve body goes on backorder, dealer complains and GM replaces Valve body # with another number, BUT it is not an official change it is just a body that will work in the car. Why not just have both as one number???

Yeah, I saw that. It's amazing to me how often Parts Info in Workbench and EPIC give different information.
And sometimes the only place I can find a number change in on the Locate Part page in workbench. :roll:
