GM BACKORDERS

GM BACKORDERS

Postby westside » Wed Aug 21, 2019 4:14 pm

Im sick of dealing with backorders. Today we had RIM order with 37 lines 11 of those lines are on backorder. There is no way GM will have healthy parts plants by the end of Aug. Half of my day I'm spending time dealing with this crap. Does anybody else think that Mary Barra ran GM into the ground..not running it into the ground, she ran it into the ground. It dont know what the problem is. GM not paying the suppliers??, I'm sure the suppliers would add overtime to get the parts out. I'm at a loss been doing this since 1981..thank god I'm at the tail-end of my career. I feel bad for the new up and comers because I dont see it getting any better in the near future. Unless they buy all there parts on amazon, seems like they are fully stocked...

Someone mentioned in another thread about RIM backorders, if it's Service Lane, upgrade it to CSO/VIP and let GM pay the freight and get it to you much faster.

I started doing that shortly after 75 went down and it's worked out well for us.

FIRST CSO ORDER OF THE DAY.............. 9 LINES......... 5 WENT TO SPAC CASES
RIM ORDER 80 LINES........ 32 WENT BACKORDER OR REFERRED.
I RECEIVE MORE PARTS FROM THE FEDX TRUCK THAN I DO FROM DDS

ALOT OF BULLSHIT

We average 12-15 parts a day from the Fedx truck and we are a small dealer. Can't imagine what a large wholesale dealership must get.

End of Sept. to get back to the way it was before the switch which was so good GM decided they needed something better so they switched. By the end of Sept. GM will be back to bad. If we are lucky.

when GM went from in-house supply to a vendor based, it went to hell in a hand basket . they hired people that had no clue how to run a business.
