Futura Laser Cut Key Machine

Futura Laser Cut Key Machine

Postby NITROZ28 » Thu Nov 12, 2015 6:38 pm

We would like to know if any dealerships have the Futura key cutting machine.
We are looking at other options than just the BD machine.
Any comments would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance.

We have it, it's great, sometimes its a little troublesome rebooting it if there is a power failure, it just takes a few, otherwise, I like it, does a real good job on all kinds of keys, loud as hell though, wish we could've put it around the corner, makes it hard to answer phone calls when someone it cutting a key lol

I am also interested in hearing comments about this machine. Also, is anyone charging a cutting fee? If so, how much?

I really liked this machine when I was in the market but it was on Back Order, I think GMSPO produces them. LOL We got the BDLaser instead and it does the job, but you have to switch the jaws around every time you get a laser key or sidecut, never fails the wrong jaw is in when a customer comes in. We charge $35.00 over the counter, dealer to dealer $15.00. The cutting bits are $169.00 and the tracer is $56.00 and they tell you to change them after 100 keys. The BDLaser is pretty loud too, it has a vac. attached to it so that compounds the noise. Let me know how you make out.

We charge about the same, a little less for shop quotes for laser/side mill cuts

We have the BD key machine and put the vacuum box (has foam in it) over the vacuum and it reduces the noise significantly.

We did the foam thing also on the vac. Definately needed something to quiet it down.

Has anyone found anyone leasing the Futura? I still have this D@mn Barnes POS and it's broke again. Gets very tiresome eating $250 cutting bits when the machine goes nuts.

We just got a Futura Auto machine. It is suppose to cut both standard and laser keys. The DVD that came with it shows an old style cutting wheel on the left side and the laser cutter on the right. Our machine doesn't have anything on the left. There is an adapter that looks like it would hold old style keys but it mounts where the laser cutter is. The manual doesn't show anything on the left. I emailed the people we bought it from but haven't heard back yet. Anyone know if there was an update and they no longer use the wheel or if this just doesn't have the hardware to cut old style keys?

We use the BIANCHI 1770 group 994 laser. Have no issues. We got it through Kent Automotive.
