Gerry,

I wasn't exactly directing MY OPINION at you personally. I sometimes don't have a perfect way of making a point.

I do not believe that ordering from WD suppliers in order to receive SMALL promos is akin to stealing. Sometimes this can be one of the only ways to provide some of the countermen with little perks that the dealer would not otherwise offer them, while still obtaining needed parts a reasonable discounts.

Return reserves is the one thing I was trying to address, not necessarily the promos.

Ordering directly from GM daily and supplementing with WD suppliers is most effective. The need to separate AC-Delco parts in order to make purchases from WD suppliers is not that difficult, but the savings in the long run don't seem to justify the need for doing so.

Most importantly, having the part when you (may) need it is the issue.

If your on ADP, you can run a Report of Stockouts in the AM and separate the sources, and you can then pinpoint AC-Delco parts and create an order for the WD supplier. And, if you post order buckets for them through Post Orders (PO), they will not show up on your daily stock order from GM. This only applies to parts that are active. In our case, if done early enough, you can receive those parts the same day and not have to wait for your GM (DRO) order to come in the following day.

Once again Gerry, my posts aren't always directed at the original member, but just meant to create discussion.

I feel that everyone at this forum is very knowledgeable and I have learned much from reading the topics. Only people, LIKE US IN THIS FORUM, are TOO much in to our jobs that things get carried away.

Take Care!
JD
