what did someone pay for the Futura ?

We purchased ours in July of '20 and it came in at just over 8K. Not sure what they go for now, though.

We have the Futura NA (not the Pro) we can cut anything, but the learning curve is large. You can put a GM vehicle in and it won't know which key card to use. We learned which blanks use which key card after some miscuts.

Be prepared to ship this thing to North Carolina if it has problems as that is where they are serviced. Also, a yearly two hundred dollar subscription, and make sure you do these updates! It takes some savvy to do it all on this machine, but I prefer it to telling customers they have to wait.

Check out current pricing on Futura ‘Auto’. Has some issues decoding side cut keys, but does all we need it to do. Decodes and cuts blade type keys. As a GM dealer, we have cut several keys for the Ford store across the street from us.

Doesn’t have all the bells and whistles of the more expensive machine, but we don’t need them.

We got ours for around $3200.00 just short of two years ago. Can be ordered right through GM Dealer Equipment site.

Side note: It does not use ‘laser’ system.

Some decoding issues on GM stuff?? It is $3768 currently on GM Dealer Equipment, not hateful compared to our current laser machine

Yes, DECODING side cut keys can be a challenge. I’m certain, with more experience, we can work that out. As far as cutting side cut keys with a code, it works fine. The blade keys are spot on, as far as DECODING and code cutting, it works fine.

If you want a machine that will CUT both types of keys, the ‘Auto’ will do just fine.

Most of the side cut keys are on the way out and as long as we can avoid inconveniencing another dealer with ‘the more expensive’ machine to cut keys for us, I’m good with that.

As far as the price, I do believe the price shown on Dealer Equipment, without a login, reflects higher than what you can purchase. Prices, obviously have gone up since two years ago, but it still beats the hell out of buying the extravagant machine that can cut all kinds of keys you will NEVER be asked to cut.

Yeah we still have an older machine we use for all the older side cut keys so this would mainly be blade keys especially 23+ stuff that our current BD laser cannot cut. Yeah I logged into Dealer Equipment to see that price. Yeah I don't see the point to spend $8-9k on the pro for what?
