part warranty on part bought from Amazon

Yes exactly what I was looking for 40+!!!!

I kept digging and I found this:

"General Motors warrants only to Service Agent that it will pay Service Agent for repair or replacement of any defective
or malfunctioning part or accessory as follows:"

another quote i found:

"Sold Over-the-Counter - 12 months from the date of original sale by dealer (parts only)."

Overlook, 15158525, customer paid about 35% under GM cost. Amazon declined to warranty the part also.

Nobody can sell a Genuine GM Part at 35% below cost and make a profit. There isn't any GM Service Agent that I know of that can. They would have to be dumping non-returnable obsolescence.

I would speculate that the part is probably bogus.

Thanks for the link Zep.

The disclaimer is interesting:

Note: ACDelco partners with other manufacturers to supply the parts your car was originally built with. This product is in a ACDelco package, however the part may have been manufactured by an independent ACDelco supplier and could have a different color or shape than the product image above.

AAAAAAHHHHH Yes! Good Better Best! And JUNK!!!!!!! Let's not forget the undisclosed JUNK category. No wonder it supposedly failed.

Also, under Warranty information:

Warranty & Support
Warranty, Parts: Parts .

Don't see why Amazon wouldn't warranty it for the guy

I don't know if this applies but what about GMparts direct, if customer buys from them?
I saw in a previous post, GM stated

"If your dealer will not warrant the part based SOLELY on where you purchase it please let us know and we will provide you with the GM customer service number to file a complaint on the dealer. In turn GM customer service will aid you and educate your dealer on how to process the warranty as long as the warranty has not expired."

I do not know who GMparts direct is but I'm guessing its a dealer that is just a parts whore?

Doing a whois lookup will tell you that GMpartsindirect is a Chevrolet dealer in Winston Salem NC. So an invoice from them would be considered a GM Service Agent depending on what their invoice says.

NOT to start a firestorm on here, but about four years ago I had the wool pulled off of my eyes. Saturday morning retail phone call, 15862656, all of you good gm parts people will recognize that one. Customer did part of my job for me, he ALREADY had the part number, knew the price if he waited 2 biz days, but thought he would trade some of his hard earned beaver pelts, I mean cash for one of the two or three WE had in stock. Like a good dealer employee I quoted List price, (Comp was out of the question as he gave me the part number.) I was shocked when he told me he could buy it for $17 less then Dealer price! I asked where at? Some online wiring web site, as simple as typing the part number into google. This tread made me think of that call, so I checked Amazon & GM PartsDirect.com and also Napa Prolink interchange, even Dorman has this one.

There is a battle, no a WAR going on in auto parts, service and quality are important, but if the guy is gonna trade it in a year or less, the preceived value of genuine is nill. I am a Prime member as I buy more and more online, the savings in shipping warrants Prime for my family and I. I can have a part drop shipped to any front door in the lower 48 in two days. And if I am paying 1/3 of ($32) OF RETAIL what do I care if I have to buy a second one when they don't warranty it. The good old days are like that movie, "Gone with the Wind"! I even had a DP tell me once, "never pay retail" ! I follow his advice on a frequent basis now.
