Key code and cut charge

We charge $20 for the key code. No charge to cut but I'll add a couple $ to the key price if I am making a copy. Also, we charge $30 for coding a cylinder and that includes getting the key code if need be. We are very close to ending cutting VATS keys because it always turns into a headache.

$20.00 for code no charge to cut keys purchased here. Will not cut keys brought in unless it is one we do not stock. Get more guff about the paperwork than anything else. Dealer across town charges $75.00 for code. Do not and will not cut Laser keys.

We don't charge to get the code, but we charge $12 to cut a key a $30 to code a lock cylinder. The one thing you have to worry about by state is how you charge them out and if they are taxable. One of our states love to change their mind on that one, so we now charge it out as a part only (no more sublet on repair orders) and they all get taxed, even for wholesale accounts.

We Charge $100 for code free cut if keys purchased here. $40 cut charge for keys not purchased here. Seems expensive but locksmiths in this area charge up to $250 for the same service.

Our policy is a $30 "Processing fee" for the entire process of creating a key from codes when we obtain the code from GM (with proper I.D, proof of ownership, and a signed document stating our policy, which includes no refunds).

We do not charge a cutting fee when key is purchased from us, slight matrix on the price of keys.

We do charge $10 to cut any key blank brought to us from individuals.

We do not have the equipment to cut the newest gen keys.

As a courtesy, our service department will program all keys and transmitters at no charge, provided they are purchased at our parts counter.

We charge $75.00 plus the cost of the key. last year (2013) we took in over $11,000.00. It's worth the few whiners we get. We just tell people "Go to the lock smith down the street and you'll pay twice as much. It works every time.
