I don't have time now because I have my P.I. on Saturday but my next project after inventory is figuring out new pricing formulas for my wholesale customers since all of my LIST - formulas will be fucking useless now since all these parts are going to have have NO LIST PRICE. What a crock of fucking shit. So pissed off right now. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

Just invite these Morons down to help with inventory. Have them stick around for about 5 days so they can see what the real world works like. I would be willing to bet a shot of whiskey (I'll deliver) that they don't last 2 days. Just waiting for the phone calls from my local customer with the big WTF? along with a "screw that we will send them somewhere else". I know of 2 that this will be guarrantied! When your done with the invite, ask them to learn to speak!!!!!!!!!!

I'm going to participate in their stupid webinar at 3:00 CDT. I will post my thoughts and/or my inevitable outrage.

I attended the webinar yesterday. I was dumbfounded at one statement that was made several times. "We know this will be disruptive to the dealer." This program is designed for one thing and one thing only. To sell GM parts for GM, not the dealer. The list price that we now have to wait to get is now determined by regional market conditions. What that means is that the returned list price will be what GM now considers to be competitive. Cost wont change for the dealer, only the price at which we are to sell it. I for one, plan to set up percentage pricing on my DMS. I will give up whatever outside business that costs me. Not playing this game.

Found this comment on a collision shop industry forum... Sounds like they are skeptical too.

GM will collect a ton of EMS data from shops. They will know exactly where to place Mega GM Certified Collision Repair Shops. The independent repair shop will take it in the shorts yet once again. Its a brilliant data mining effort though.

Here's an idea - keep one of your PCs with the EPC on it from updating - You'll still have access to list price on there. Short term fix until all the prices change but unless there's a mass price change coming up, most things should be accurate.

You can at least compare cost to the EPC list and make an informed decision and probably a lot faster than going through all the bullshit this program looks to create
