Dealertrack- no bin 2 location?

Thank you. Another thing he told me was there isn't really price protection for certain parts. ie I have tshirts on the front counter and currently with R&R I put those parts in a source to where no one can get a discount, regardless of who they are, like an employee. This is because of the small markup. What this rep told me was that if I have an employee come in to buy one, his price level will trump any protection I have on the part. Do you all find this to be true as well?

not true--in "Parts in inventory" screen enter your selling price as the "flat price"--whenever you sell this part
it will be at this price regardless of price level....

We are a GM store, so I am referring to my 242 account, which is standard parts- the rep said we would have to inventory our bulk oil in there, not Gas Oil and Grease. Little surprised by that. (We haven't gone live yet) Thank you!

I was on DT back when it was Arkona...who is your pre-installer? Most of the ones I know insist on setting up proper groups and accounting for GOG/Tires/Cores, ect.... If they still say no, talk to the team leader, you REALLY need to keep the accounting separate.

You can default your reports to QPRINT, and look at them before you print them. I did that for the entire time we were on ARKONA/DT, because I hate wasting paper!

How do you add the part in as a GOG? All they are telling me is to add it in as a regular part, aka 242 account

first set up a STOCKING GROUP in APPLICATION ENVIRONMENT/STOCKING GROUPS from the main parts menu screen.

- ADD or F6 to begin the process.
- SELECT the vendor. ( I have source acct'g set up for both the GM VENDOR and the OT VENDOR, you cannot use the same stocking group number for GM and OT, they must be different).
- SELECT an UNUSED STOCKING GROUP number.
- ENTER the sales acct'g numbers for the fields as they appear, the first screen is for over the counter sales. The second screen is for Repair Order sales.
- MOVE through the screens that follow for pricing and price matrix settings. Then for PHASE IN/OUT criteria.
- Lastly, SELECT the new stocking group in the CHANGE function of screen 10, PARTS IN INVENTORY.

test to confirm.

~ gt has stocking group special acct'g set up for PARTS, GOG, TIRES, FREIGHT, VARIOUS SHOP SUPPLIES, and WHEEL WEIGHTS.
