Upcoming Safety Recall 14092

Owners of 2008 and later model year vehicles will receive notification letters in the near future advising them that parts are not yet available for recall 14092. They will receive another letter when parts are available. Parts ordering instructions for the ignition switch for this recall (which is a different part number from the one listed above), will be forthcoming.

BTW, I'm sure someone here's going to attend the webex tomorrow? I can't, so some cliff notes here would be much appreciated.

Zep, the only note will be "We understand the difficuties you are experiencing, we are working around the clock to fix these issues, please be patient"

which means we can't fix it either so just hold your water, WE ARE IN CHARGE.

I like the "Reminder" bulletin. "Make sure you dial in 30 minutes early because of security issues".
This will only be a problem if DealerWorld is ACTUALLY working at that time so you can tag the link!!!!!

Call me crazy, but I get the impression these nitwits are actually trying to micromanage the financial impact of this recall by Investigating Vehicle History of every SPAC case to determine which vehicles have already had some type of repairs in regards to the ignition switch and sending out parts on a case by case basis.

Order the 23215459, SPAC it, after it arrives, you think you have all parts required, and a day later 2 keys and an ignition cylinder comes in that you had no idea that these parts were even needed or coming for that vehicle.

Really poopy process.

WOW - someone finally removed their head from their ass:

To: Chevrolet, Buick, GMC, and Cadillac Dealers

In order to simplify the dealer ordering process for the Ignition Switch Recall campaigns 13454 and 14063 (part # 23215459), and the Ignition Cylinder campaigns 14113 and 14133, we are announcing a change in the recall parts ordering process effective April 16, 2014. Please place orders only for the ignition switch part number 23215459 and include the VIN, according to the instructions provided below. Orders will be fulfilled with parts needed for both recalls (13454 or 14063, and 14113 or 14133), based on the VIN provided.

Part orders for recall campaigns 13454 and 14063 no longer require a SPAC case. These part orders must now be placed using the Parts Workbench or EPIC systems as a CSO (not a CSO3), order type with the inclusion of the VIN in the comments (Parts WB), notes (EPIC) field. The VIN must occupy the first 17 characters of the appropriate field. Additional notes can be added after the VIN. Upon order submission the dealer will receive an Answerback and be able to run an Order Status Inquiry.

After the order has been processed and an Answerback sent, we will complete a VIN validation / duplicate check. If we find invalid or duplicate VIN’s, the order will be cancelled, and the dealer will be notified via an Answerback message. This order line must then be resubmitted.

Please note to take extra care in submitting the VIN as the validation will be done after the order is received.

Please refer to the attached screen shots for additional details.

On hold on the conference call. So far I'm the only participant loggrd in in Southeast region. Everyone must be having as much trouble as I did getting in.

I was on the SE region call very early. I think they blocked it so we couldn't see each other.
