Been doing this for 24 years and it is by far the worse I have seen it.

The dealer body needs to take a stand; I'm sure GM would like to see us all go.

The sh@t will hit the fan sooner or later and it will not be pretty.

Agreed, and when it hits, it splatters!

41 years .Went in as parts mgr at age 18. Small town dealership, 3 different owners. Always worked by myself for the most part, but have had a few helpers along the line. GM has changed from something to be proud to be associated with into something that is hard to understand anymore. I want to work as long as I feel good and anybody appreciates my efforts. 62 is 17 months away and I'm thinking more about it everyday. It would be nice to be able to enjoy life again.

Been a GM parts manager 2 years and I despise coming to work everyday now. I only stay because the money I make in my small town is amazing . I read on how it used to be to where it is now and I can't believe it. I'm considering a quick career change before long because business keeps going down and I've burned out all options for helping increase business. With Mega wholesale dealers from 2 hours away basically selling to my wholesale shops at my employee cost, getting parts WAY quicker, and being in my town every day. I have no hope on battling that. Just basically holding on to this roller coaster.

20 years in, last 7 as PM. Starting my new gig tomorrow, back to the counter. I'm gonna let someone else deal with the headaches.

Don't feel bad Bear.. I am going through the same thing. I have a guy who is over 2.5 hours away selling into his backend money to my body shops but the best part is he worked a deal with insurance companies now where his name pops up first on any and all OEM parts because he is selling them so low. It's gotten to the point where you either sell at less then 10% profit or you lose the job, then you have to hope the parts are on the Bump The Idiots program to at least make up some $$$..

Started working for a Chevrolet dealer right out of high school in June of 1990. Worked with several different franchises over the years. Went back to a GM dealer in August of 2012.
