I sent my first filled out form in yesterday and got a reply from him saying that was only a stop gap until they came up with a real process:

Effective 5/12:

Q: If the switch or the cylinder is damaged during installation, or the key found defective or is damaged during cutting, how do dealers order another part for the same customer using the same VIN?
A: Dealerships should ensure technicians are familiar with the correct service procedure as described in recall bulletins 13454A, 14063A, 14113B and 14133B. If the switch or the cylinder is damaged during installation, dealers can order another part for the same customer using the same VIN by contacting GM Technical Assistance Center (TAC) at 877- 446- 8227. If the key blank is found defective or is damaged during cutting, dealers should call the GM Product Quality Center (PQC) at 866-654-7654. In either situation, the dealers must provide the kit number.

I spent 25 minutes (15 on hold before getting to a person) on the phone to order a replacement key. That was with PQC.

Our tech is having an issue on another one where it won't turn once installed - key and cylinder are coded correctly. He's calling TAC right now. We'll see what will happen next

Does anybody know if this same procedure has to used if the switch is missing from the kit GM sent?

Edit: No it is not. Have to call Partec and do an RFI.

We have a giant clusterf*ck going on with our 2nd one - a 2006 Pontiac Solstice.

First off, the very first one we did was also a 06 Solstice and went in with no issues at all.

Now for this one: Tech can't get new key to turn in new cylinder once it's installed. We double check keys and they're fine. They work in the door so at least we know the code and cuts are good.

He calls TAC and they said they've heard of no issues. They tell him to have me call SPAC and make sure they sent us the right kit. I knew that would be a waste but did it anyway (we all know that we just use the same # for 14063 and GM determines what to send). SPAC just verified that they sent us the kit they sent us - not that it was the correct one or not LOL. SPAC then tells me to call Partech to see if they sent me the right kit. Partech was very helpful and verified that we got the right kit. Tech calls TAC back and they tell him he must have a defective cylinder and to call PQC and get another one. I call PCQ and they say they only do damaged cylinders and Partech has to do defective cylinders. Call Partech back for RFI and finally get a new cylinder sent. Cylinder shwed up yesterday and same problem. Base of the cylinder bottoms out at the top of the housing so it won't go all the way in, gets jammed and won't turn. Same thing with both cylinders. Tech calls TAC back, sends pics of the old and new one and the spacing distance is quite obvious between the old and new ones from the base to the little lever that pops up about 3/4 of the way down. TAC tells him he needs a new housing now. Look up the housing and there's no pricing (must be new #) and shows on EPIC with no inventory available and also says "not an active part" I put an order in for one and can't upgrade to SPAC the normal way. Call SPAC and they have me do it from the backorder report in workbench and it goes through. There is no ETA at all on the housing as these were all pulled back because they come with an ignition switch that were recalled. SPAC says to check back on the 31st for a possible update. I can't see these things coming anytime soon. "Not an active part" is not a good sign. SPAC says that's kind of in a setting up supplier situation.

Oh boy, this is gonna be a fun one and only our 2nd one. Only about 40 more to go here....

The IGN housings in the Saturds are worn out, doing the recall doesn't fix them, and the housing is DISCON. What a can of worms!!!

They're not discontinued Richard, although EPIC makes it appears that way. Unless you're checking a different number than I was. They will make more (or so I've been told)

We've had a 23233194 hsg on SPAC case since late April. The Saturn came in running just fine, to get their cylinder & switch replaced (one of the first to get their parts).

Tech couldn't get the old cyl out, the second smaller wedge on the end of the cyl (which is NOT on the new cyl) wasn't letting go. He ordered the housing anticipating having to destroy it, but didn't realize the backorder issue. Last I heard is was getting drilled out...

ps. SPAC told me that there are a bunch of these on backorder, GOOD LUCK!
