That's wrong thinking on your part. A real customer has A CHOICE on who they want to do business with. What choice does a GM Parts Department have on who they can buy their parts from today? That's right, only The General. Wasn't always that way. At one time, GM Parts Managers had real choices were they could buy parts from and maximize the 687 account. Alas, those days are long gone.

Meanwhile, service can remain profitable selling the same total labor hours forever.

Honestly, I'd rather GM stop wasting money on the trip promotions and go back to the old days where we had choices.
I can only imagine how much pork is tied up into that program, probably worse than the tollways.
We would make enough money under the old system to buy our own damn vacations and then some.

Was told by my QC person at 39 the reason for no RIM orders was 50% of employees not showing up.
